Flag of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine Gifted to Iran’s President-Elect

IQNA – A flag of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine was gifted to Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian.

Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian receives a flag of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine as a gift.

 

Pezeshikan joined a large number of devotees of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) attending a mourning ceremony at Imam Hassan Mujtaba (AS) religious center in Tehran commemorating Ashura, the tenth day of Muharram. 

Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, the commander of the IRGC Quds Force, was also among those present at the ceremony.

During the event, Saeed Haddadian, a renowned Iranian elegist, gifted the flag of the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) to the president-elect.

Pezeshkian secured the majority of votes in the election runoff on July 5, becoming the ninth Iranian president.

With a total of 30,530,157 votes counted, Pezeshkian secured a strong lead with 16,384,403 votes, while his rival Saeed Jalili received 13,538,179 votes.
